Nepal may not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking about gaming, but the nation’s gaming community is growing rapidly. With the rise of internet access and the availability of affordable smartphones, gaming has become a popular form of entertainment among Nepali youth. To further explore this emerging trend, we interviewed a few Nepali gamers about their favorite gaming apps and how these apps have impacted their lives.
Our first interviewee, Raju, a 23-year-old college student, revealed that his favorite gaming app is PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds). When asked why this game stands out to him, he shared, “I love PUBG because it’s a fun and engaging way to connect with my friends. We can play together, even when we’re physically apart.” Raju also mentioned that the game has helped him de-stress and pass the time during the pandemic-induced lockdowns in Nepal.
